Mon. night went how I expected it would.
Things haven't changed and I have done all I can in the situation. Time to move on I guess. I have close friends I would rather spend my time and energy on rather continually try to make something happen who doesn't return anything.

I used to feel guilty when I didn't catch up with friends as much as possible. But then realised that they didn't make the effort either.
Friendships are a hard thing and sometimes we need to accept that they change and we have to move on.
I think the thing is that there has always been a pressure to have a friendship with this chick because our husbands friendship goes back 20yrs!
We are just very different and there is no sense in trying to force something that realistically neither of us wants. I will be friendly and nice to her, but I am not going to continue to go out of my way to make her a close friend.
Good for you Bekster. Who knows it may develop into more in the future, but until then you can stop putting so much pressure on yourself.

I do feel a bit better too. I have no reason to spend huge amounts of time with her and there is no longer any pressure to.
i guess we will see how we go in the future anyway!!!
